That recruiters tend to penalize candidates who ask about salary has to be the weirdest thing I've read today, but I believe it. If it's true, recruiters need to eliminate this kind of #bias , and focus on a candidate holistically. Why on Earth would you assume you know someone's motivations and intentions based on a basic, and to my mind, reasonable request for information? Salary is one facet of work, an important one. Now, on the other side of the coin, as a job seeker, you don't want an innocent question to boot you from the running for a good opportunity.
