Guys, when all else fails, you can always resort to a little harmless - but effective - trickery to throw off the social media trolls!
Interesting read on how the grocery industry is leveraging tech. To be honest, though, I thought the following would've happened years ago (glad to see it starting to happen now at least): "Last year, Kroger introduced a system called “Scan, Bag, Go” that allows customers to scan and pay for grocery items as they shop — with their smartphone." #grocery #retail #shopping #CX #customerexperience #kroger …see more
Much like how "millennials" aren't a monolith, neither are folks from other generations. Smar startups think less about age and more about what stage they're in and what a particular person can bring to the role. #hiring #recruiting #ageism #experiencematters …see more
This has been fascinating to watch KIND fully embrace a challenger brand position. In doing so, they're signaling to consumers that they are not in first-place. Which is not a bad thing as long as it is deliberate. And it's also garnering a lot of earned media. Here they take shots at the competition even as they exit a category due to poor sales. #brand #KIND #foodbrands #brandstrategy #brandpositioning #marketing #foodwars …see more
Great write-up by Brian Balfour on the difference between Cost Per Acquisition vs. Customer Acquisition Cost.

"Are they getting any sort of publicity? Do they show up when I search for them in the news?" -- this matters, Mollie does a great job explaining why.

Many #B2B software and technology marketers seem unaware of the critical role that consistency and repetition play in claiming a position, that mental space in your target audience’s mind that you can “own” with an idea that has compelling meaning to the recipient. It’s in this mental space where your product’s most important benefit and the target’s most important need meet, stick together and form a meaningful relationship. You stand out when you use the power of consistency and repetition. Good #marketing advice from Lawson Abinanti …see more
While we've heard "social is not just another broadcast channel" before - that fact is often given lip service by companies who continue to use it as such. In contrast, here's an example from Microsoft in their #CustomerExperience Center (CXC) which houses social engagement programs across business units into one center of excellence. The insight gained from social listening is used to: 1) understand industry-specific challenges, competition news for refining plans/content 2) understand the public pulse on topics where they want to have a share of voice (e.g. #diversity and inclusion, #digitaltransformation and CX) The article below shares more detail as to how it's done behind the scenes, and sets the bar high for all brands.
